12 V - 9 Amp Battery,

The Vexilar FLX-20 is one of the fish finders released in 2017, but it’s still available at the moment. It’s a pretty standard ice flasher but comes with a few extra features over the FLX-12 that we’ve already covered here. For reference, this is the Vexilar part number GPX2012, the one that includes the Genz Pack and the 12° ice transducer.

Sonar and transducer
As we’ve mentioned above, the Vexilar GPX2012 ice pack comes with the 12-degree ice-ducer. This transducer features a conical shape with a durable thermoplastic shell and 7 ft. (2.1 m) of cable. It casts a conical beam with a depth range of 300 ft. (91.4 m) and the FLX-20 can actually scan waters up to this depth with the included transducer.
The unit offers simple standard sonar. It does not have CHIRP technology. It uses the 200 kHz channel and does not support 50 kHz or 83 kHz. Like most other Vexilar flashers, it is compatible with the 19° ice-ducer, and with the 9° ice-ducer as well.
Control unit features
The Vexilar FLX-20 ice flasher features a 3-color LED display with 525 segments. However, it has a Color Select mode which offers the possibility to work with the red color only, red and yellow only, or all three colors (red, yellow, green).
Since the unit has a zoom feature, its scale is different than for the FLX-12 unit. It goes from 0 to 10. The left half represents the zoom view with an additional scale from 0 to 6, while the right half represents the whole water column, with a scale of 0-2-4-6-8-10. An Auto Zoom is function is also available. When selected, it puts the flasher into split-screen. There are two Auto Zoom modes: 6 ft. and 12 ft.
The unit has multiple depth range settings. First of all, you can set it to 10, 20, 30, 40, 80, 100 ft. (3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 30 m), but there is also a deep water scanning range of settings for 30, 60, 90, 120, 240, and 300 ft. (9, 18, 27, 36, 73, 91 m).
This Vexilar flasher is equipped with three multi-function knobs. The top-right knob controls the Gain and has 9 settings. However, you can also press it down when adjusting the color mode or the interference rejection.
The Mode knob covers quite a bunch of functions including zoom, power, and color. CS accesses the color select mode, LP/AZ splits the screen into Zoom Mode, and uses a low power level. LP is the low power level but with the standard display. N accesses the normal mode (full power, full display), AZ covers the Auto Zoom function, and AZx2 sets the zoom to 12 ft. Finally, the Range knob starts with a 0-10 ft. range and then offers x2, x3, x4, x8, and x10 settings.
Genz pack and other accessories
The Vexilar GPX2012 FLX-20 ice fish finder comes with the Genz Pack. This includes the Blue Carrying case, a 12V – 9 Amp SLA battery, and a charger for the battery. The blue case has pre-drilled holes to attach the mount of the unit. It also has pre-drilled holes for attaching various other addons, such as the DD-100 depth/battery gauge or FlexLight (these are not included).
The battery has its own slot at the back of the case. The bottom of the case has an extra compartment for cable storage. There is also a storage compartment for the transducer in the box and an Eye-Bolt which can be attached at the front of the box to serve as support for the transducer cable. Of course, the unit comes with its own tilt mount that can also be attached to a boat.
