The Garmin GT24UHD-TM is the transducer usually included with the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD fish finders that have ClearVü sonar, such as the ECHOMAP UHD 73cv or the ECHOMAP UHD 74cv. The version included with the units only has the transom mount. However, the one presented here also includes the trolling mount. For reference, this is the Garmin transducer part number 010-12908-00.

Frequency and Coverage

The Garmin GT24UHD-TM transducer features a durable thermoplastic shell, it is equipped with 20 ft. (6 m) of cable, has an 8-pin connector, and integrates a temperature sensor. It supports two sonar technologies, these being traditional CHIRP and ClearVü.

For traditional CHIRP, it operates at 150-240 kHz, so it’s basically a High Wide CHIRP transducer. The High Wide CHIRP beam is conical and offers a coverage between 24° – 16° and has a depth capability of 800 ft. (244 m).

For ClearVü, it also supports only one CHIRP frequency range, this being 760-880 kHz. Of course, it supports the unit’s UHD sonar mode for improved structure scanning images. The ClearVü beam is oval, offering a coverage of 0.94° x 60°. Its maximum depth capability is 200 ft. (61 m).

Echosounder Compatibility and Other Accessories

The GT24UHD transducer is compatible with all the ECHOMAP UHD Cv units, with the ECHOMAP Ultra units, with the GPSMAP 800xsv, and GPSMAP 8600xsv. Of course, the Sv units support it as well, but you won’t be able to use SideVü with it.

There are several accessories available for this Garmin transducer. Some of the first to put on the list are the extension cables. There is the 10 feet (3 m) extension cable part number 010-11617-50 with 8-pin connectors, the 30 feet (9 m) extension cable with 8-pin connectors part number 010-11617-52, and the 8-pin to 12-pin cable adapter part number 010-12122-10.

Other compatible accessories for it apart from the included trolling motor mount and transom mount, are the Suction Cup Mount part number 010-11849-17, and the metallic Spray Shield mount 010-12006-11.
